Our Terms of Reference

Our Terms of Reference are:
 
  • The aim of the Ability Partnership Board is to improve the quality of lives of disabled people and people with a sensory need, living in Wokingham borough
  • To ensure that services are modernised and improved
  • To influence the way that money is spent on health and council services in Wokingham
  • To involve service users and carers in the decision about how services are run and develop
  • To aid the development of a range of partnerships that will improve the quality and choice of services locally
  • The Partnership Board shall conduct its business in such a way as to be accessible for disabled people and their carers
  • To ensure that local services meet the aims and objectives of government policy, in particular the NSF on Long Term Conditions, Improving Life Chances of Disabled People and the Disability Discrimination Act 2005
  • To help disabled people to achieve independent living
  • To facilitate a smooth transition into adulthood
  • To improve support and incentives for getting and staying in employment
